TRACK FOR TRACK
The Feverish Analysis of The Lascivious Pursuit of Cash Lee
Something unique about this album:
All three skits were recorded with my cell phone in my van, outside of a Panera Bread, and edited in the MPC One.
The Coolest thing about this album:
All of the song concepts and lyrics are based on the titles of the songs. BUT all the song titles were actually RANDOM names given to the beats.
Here's a little commentary on each track (in reverse order):
Destination Checkmate
This was the last beat made for the album, and is actually featured in "The Undress Address" skit in the background.
Cramping Hands Applauding
What's interesting about this song is that I knew I wanted to go in HARD in judgment against ALL parties that offend The Lord and The Kingdom of God. But it kinda sparked with (of all things) a library--- and that was based on my mom calling me and telling me that they renovated a library near her house. LOL. What's also funny is that a lot of this album was worked on it public libraries.
This song probably has the most prophetic mysteries than the others, because there are end-times revelations mentioned in it that might not resonate right away with people. But there are things disclosed that have NEVER been told before, though they can be shown and explain with the Biblical text.
The Big Chest Chess Move
I thought this was a good way to wrap up the project and connect to The Checkmate album. I had such a good time writing the short script for this. The "show her your hands reference" is a play on how the Hebrews will see the nail prints in Yeshua's hands one day, as a recognition of He actually is.
Parked Straight In A Crooked Space
This song was almost written without me. LOL. It was almost like God said step aside, I got this, because it was written pretty fast. I didn't really intend to go in this hard against The Church and religion, but I meant every word of it. Honestly, it's probably the song that people will connect with the most, because it more direct than the others.
Jolting Discrepancy
This is the beat and song that kicked off the entire album. Though it was not the first song written, it was the first beat made and the inspiration for the whole album. I absolutely love the almost 80s pop feel to the singing. I really felt every bit of this song in my soul.
Scuffin Her Muffin
The rhyme pattern sounds like Big Daddy Kane, whom I mention in the beginning of the song. "I'll take the Kane approach". Oddly, I wrote the lyrics to fit the beat, but the way it came off, sounded like Kane, so I used that in the song concept during the recording.
The Undress Address (Skit)
I had a blast writing out this skit. Gotta love my acting skills, because I AM literally all the voices in it, even though you can kinda tell. But I love how authentic the acting sounds.
Punch In My Pancreas
My absolute favorite song on the album. I really milked the entire concept. And the "pancreas" reference was in the beat title itself, but it actually has ties to a prophetic Word that was given to me in 2018.
Chipped Corners Off Becky's Table
This is the only feature on the album. Lyrikill, my long-time friend, college roommate, and rhyme brother, blessed the second verse. I sent him the beat and concept, and he delivered... as always. His house is where all the vocals were recorded.
Born Under A Shaved Tree Stump
I had so much fun writing and recording this. I love the unique concept of two people making each other "horny" on sight, and the weird interaction between them from start to finish. And my voice is hardly deep, but I tried my best to give it that "Billy D Williams" type mystique.
The Return From The Nasty Journey
This skit was what I used to tie this project to "The Justified Journey of a Nasty Nomad" (an instrumental project released just a few months prior, and to the forthcoming "The Checkmate of The Great American Tragedy & #IAMWHOEVERTHEFUCKISAYIAM".
