TRACK FOR TRACK
The Sun of Solomon Sung As A Different Kind of David
My favorite thing about this album:
The story of where and how each track got written. My memory allows me to recall the exact circumstances of how the beats, concepts, and rhymes came to be.
The coolest thing about this album:
A lot of the beats include samples from Mediterranean, Middle-Eastern, & African influenced-music.
Here's a little commentary on each track:
The What Manner of Man
I wanted to open the album with a scene whereby two men are discussing the results of attempting to expand their territory and rule, whereby another man is vehemently opposing that agenda. Alaric is a ruler of a particular area and people, and Conrad is his military leader. I recorded this one my phone, both voices, in about one take. I wanted to set the tone that this "man" that Conrad and Alaric disagree about is NOT to be fucked with.
A Different Kind of David
This track establishes the truth that a King's rule is based on his connection to God. I make it known that whatever resistance or repute shown to me through others only added to the authority and power God gave me.
Honking At The Birdwatchers
This uni-verse track challenges government at both the official and citizen levels, making it known that it's righteousness or nothing. Politics, democracy, and voting actually mock God's righteous order. And I make it known that PERSONALLY (which will thus affect the whole) I AM totally opposed.
A Land Reign In Alkebulan
This is a song that compares the sexual tension between a black man and woman with the intense desire The Lord has for Black people. I speak of the divine power that is exchanged between the two--- feeding and drawing strength from each other.
The Ultimate Complement
As a set up for "Creature of Have It", I wanted to narrate what leads to being such a creature, by speaking of the processes, thoughts, ideologies, characteristics, and operations that press a person into that position. It describes where the spiritual man travels mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically, that has a final destination of continuous acquisition of desires.
Creature of Have It
From a divine posture, I boldly proclaim possession and acquisition of the choicest of women, as a continual response to the peaked equality of my divinity and desire. "I shall have what I want to the fullest and beyond" is the sentiment behind the chorus.
Weep At The Cried Grave
Instrumental. I chose the title because the violins sound like whimpers of someone crying.
Blaring Stereogamy
I wanted to introduce polygamy as a natural reaction to haughty and prideful women, who seemingly use the demand for monogamy as a trap and a snare, while sexually depriving the respective men, who can easily go find sexual pleasure elsewhere.
Divine Brother Color Shift
I wanted to build up black men and the somewhat inherent characteristics that God had given them, by using my boldness as a model for them to discover their divine nature from The Lord.
The Chance To Witness (The Force)
I took the opportunity to be creative about sexual activity between me and black women, as offering them my resume for employment as their personal roller coaster ride for amusement. I give details of how amazing and intense it is, and what should all be considered before hiring and riding.
Never Tip-Toed Through The Temple
Instrumental. The idea behind the title represents the boldness a divine royal king has in God's temple. God's grace and power in The life of a king, mixed with the King's faith, allows Him to walk through any and every part of the temple without tip-toeing in fear.
Mr. Universe
I demonstrate how sexual activity, especially concerning this prophet, is measured against cosmic objects and activities. I get very personal, as I prophetically mention different star and planets within my "universe" and the roles they play even with each other.
War Drunk On Milk
This is clearly a bold judgment track, that speaks of the spoils of victory and the contrast of circumstances before and after war was fought. It's an "in your face, yes I did it" lyrical spill of pure dopeness.
A Bird Shitted On My Church Shoes
This exposes how the critics of my ministry actually expose themselves. Every attempt to discredit my spiritual walk actually elevates me IN GOD, and lowers themselves.
Pumping The Ashes (The Best Dance of David)
This is a dancing interaction between me and a beautiful black woman named Ashley (Ash), and the spiritual connection we continue to share though on different sides of life. The "dance" is actually her aiding my spiritual life by preparing other dancers to dance with me.
