THE FEVERISH ANALYSIS
of The Lascivious Pursuit of Cash Lee
Tell us about "The Feverish..." album
When I got ready to start working on the final recordings for "The Checkmate" album, I was still in the process and flow of making beats, coming up with concepts, putting beats in "project files", etc. I ended up doing some "revisits" (where I go back into the files of previous beats and work with old samples to make new beats.) I started playing with some of the samples from "The Justified Journey of a Nasty Nomad" project, and stumbled upon a sample that I thought had a really grimy but melodic sound to it, and instantly started working with it.
The beat that came out of that, which is a song called "Jolting Discrepancy: Multiple Hats Worn At God's Round Table," caused me to think about doing a whole EP. That eventually led to a nice set of beats--- some new and some old--- that would fit the sound I was looking to capture.
How did the "CA$H LEE" thing come about?
When I had all the beats completed, I started to think of a name for the album. I had already been living a life where I had dissolved any credit situations (and that took place while I was creating the "Nomad" project.) I like long titles, and wanted to capture the raw and intense sexual nature of my prophetic ministry and operation. So I came up with "The Feverish Analysis of the Lascivious Pursuit of CA$H LEE." The name CA$H LEE is a play on a few things: CA$H, as the means of exchange I'm solely using right now; Lee, which is the last name of a very good "friend" of mine who passed away a few years ago; and Ashley, which is her actual first name. In marriage, a woman typically takes the man's last name. I'm using this as somewhat of a reverse thing, but in a nickname sense.
The "lascivious pursuit" is a matter of the intense sexual nature utilized during the search for, interrogation, and apprehension of, a particular suspect, but also a pursuit of discovering who I AM in the process. So the pursuit of CA$H LEE is actually a two or three-way deal.
The Tie-In and Storyline
As I was finishing up the writing of the songs, I decided to add skits, and noticed that I had used a couple things in my "Nomad" album that I could pivot from in order to tie the two projects together AND also use it as a set up for "The Checkmate..." album.
So you have "Special Agent CA$H LEE" returning from His nomad journey, that he went on NAKED, and discussing it with his boss "The Captain."
Who and what is "Special Agent CA$H LEE"?
CA$H works for an organization called "SHAFT--- Strategic Headhunters Against Fraud & Trafficking", and He is sent on special missions projects to take down villains of many stripes, using his superior prophetic wisdom and knowledge. A sort of modern-day Samson, he keeps to himself a lot, but knows how and when to be social. And when it's time to kick ass, He steps up to the plate with no hesitation.
